Lu Corporation Board Meeting – Part 1

Wednesday

When Hou Yi woke early with his wife in his arms, he already had the day mapped out in his mind.

They would not be going to the office first. Instead, they would head straight to Lu Corporation, arriving at eleven. The lawyers would already be there, finalising the transfer of the remaining shares into the designated entities. Everything had been arranged carefully to ensure discretion.

The process itself would not take long — perhaps forty minutes at most — but it was enough. By the time anyone realised what was happening, it would already be done.

More importantly, their appearance would disrupt things.

Hou Yi knew exactly how CEO Lu would react.

And he intended to use that.

For a moment, however, none of that mattered.

He leaned down and gently woke Anna with a series of soft kisses. It was a simple habit now — one he had come to treasure more than anything else.

Anna stirred, her eyes opening slowly.

Instead of letting him pull away, she held onto him, returning his closeness with a quiet determination that made him pause.

There was something different in her expression that morning — something more open, more certain.

Hou Yi felt it immediately.

But he also knew they needed to be careful.

“Sweetheart…” he murmured softly, brushing a hand against hers.

Anna only smiled faintly, staying close, unwilling to let the moment pass too quickly.

The air between them grew warmer, more intense, but instead of letting it spiral out of control, Hou Yi slowed the moment down, grounding it in something steadier.

“Not now,” he said gently. “We have a long day ahead.”

Anna let out a soft breath, half amused, half frustrated.

“You always know when to stop,” she said quietly.

“Someone has to,” he replied with a small smile.

They stayed like that for a few moments longer — close, calm, connected — before reality began to settle back in.

Eventually, they rose and made their way to the bathroom to get ready for the day.

The quiet routine that followed — sharing the space, helping each other prepare — felt just as meaningful as anything else. There was no urgency, only familiarity.

Before they left, Hou Yi paused at the safe and retrieved a piece of jewellery.

He walked back to Anna and carefully fastened the Pandora bracelet around her wrist.

It wasn’t just an accessory.

It was a message.

A signal that only a select few would understand — especially CEO Lu.

Hou Yi allowed himself a faint smile.

Let the game begin.
