Buying Rings at Fengs – Part 6
Tuesday, continued …
As Hou Yi and Anna exited the VIP room and moved toward the store’s entrance, the shrill voice of Yang Lin pierced through the air.
“What is this crap? I know you have four sets of the Dream Wedding Ring Sets! There are only three here, and I want the pink diamond set! Get it now!” she demanded.
A calm voice replied, “Madam Lu, that set was sold to another customer. I’m sorry, but it’s no longer available.”
“You knew I was coming!” Yang Lin shrieked. “I’m entitled to one of the best and most exclusive wedding rings in the world. Call whoever bought it, tell them it was a mistake, and have them return it immediately! And for the inconvenience, I’ll take it for free while they pay for a replacement.”
The employee tried to reason with her, “Madam Lu, the set has already been paid for. It’s out of our hands.”
“I don’t care!” Yang Lin’s voice rose to a scream. “That set is mine! If you don’t get it here now, you’ll be looking at a long stint in jail!”
Hou Yi turned to Anna, his expression firm. “Anna, could you please wait in the car? I don’t want them to see you.”
Understanding the gravity of the situation, Anna nodded and walked toward the exit. As she stepped out, she caught Lu Jinhu yelling, “My wife gave you an order! Do you want this store closed in five minutes? Because one call from us, and that’s exactly what will happen!”
Grateful to be outside, Anna climbed into the car.
Inside, Hou Yi watched Anna safely enter the vehicle before turning back toward the second VIP room. Striding purposefully, he pushed the door open with force and slammed it shut behind him. The sudden sound caught Yang Lin and Lu Jinhu off guard, freezing them in place.
Hou Yi’s voice was low, controlled, and dangerously calm. “This ends now. Yang Lin, you no longer have the right to bully my staff or demand they cater to your whims. I tolerated your behavior when we were engaged, but let me remind you—you refused to marry me and called yourself Madam Lu. That means you have no connection to me, the Hou family, or Fengs.”
He took a step closer, his voice cold. “The discount Manager Yong gave you today was a courtesy I authorized to avoid a scene. But let me make this clear: that was the last discount you will ever receive here unless I personally authorize it, which I am not inclined to do.”
“You’re lying!” Yang Lin spat. “I’m entitled to what I want because of everything I endured with you, you bastard! I deserve that ring set, and I’ll have it, or I’ll make sure this store is shut down!”
Hou Yi’s eyes narrowed. “Try it. You forget—this store is equipped with CCTV, even in the VIP rooms. Every second of your behavior today has been recorded. Go ahead, make your threats. If you attempt to blackmail or bully my staff or this business, I will ensure the footage is sent to the authorities, and you will face legal consequences.”
Yang Lin sputtered, “You wouldn’t dare—”
Hou Yi cut her off. “Your family may have connections, but don’t forget: one of my closest friends is the son of a senior government official. This business contributes far more to this country than your family ever could. Let’s see who will be protected—an entitled shrew or a businessman safeguarding his employees.”
Lu Jinhu snarled, “Tomorrow, when I take over your family company, you’ll regret this. I’ll ruin you.”
Hou Yi ignored him, turning to leave. Yang Lin screeched after him, “You owe me discounts, you bastard! If I don’t get thirty percent like today, I’ll destroy you!”
Hou Yi didn’t look back. He approached Assistant Manager Wong and asked for a piece of paper. He quickly scrawled a note:
“Please make copies of all CCTV footage from the moment Yang Lin and Lu Jinhu entered until they leave. Send it to my assistant at Hou Enterprises.”
Handing the note to Wong, he added, “Please ensure this is delivered to Manager Yong. Also, do not inform the couple in VIP Room 2 that I purchased the items they selected. Once the jeweler has finished the adjustments, have everything sent to my apartment immediately. Thank you again for your excellent work.”
With that, Hou Yi exited the store, his demeanor calm but resolute. Climbing into the car beside Anna, his frustration was evident.
Assistant Wang, sensing the tension, started the car and quickly drove off toward M Mall, ensuring they left the drama behind.
