Friday on my Mind – Part 2
4 Friday, continued …
Anna settled in and continued working through the next batch of documents, making notes as she went along.
Before she realized it, it was 11 a.m., and she was interrupted by a knock on the door. Anna quickly turned on the office surveillance, and in came Amanda Mei.
“Miss Anna, our Friday tradition is to take a short morning tea break. Would you come and join us?” Amanda asked, smiling warmly.
“Sorry, Amanda, I have to see CEO Hou at 12 p.m. to deal with another batch of documents. I haven’t finished my work yet, and I need to be ready for the meeting,” Anna replied, brushing off the break.
Amanda nodded understandingly and exited, shutting the door behind her.
Feeling safe now, Anna turned off the surveillance and got back to her work. She finished the last of the documents just before 11:50 a.m. and sent them through to Hou Yi’s printer.
She opened the chat box with Assistant Wang: “Assistant Wang, I’ve sent a batch of documents through to Yi’s printer for my meeting with him. I’ll be up in about five minutes.”
Next, she messaged Hou Yi: “Yi, sorry I haven’t been talking today, but I’ve been busy trying to get the work done so we don’t have to finalize paperwork on the flight. I’m coming up now and will see you in about five minutes.”
After shutting down her laptop and packing it into its bag, Anna left her office, heading for the elevator. She inserted the passkey to take her to the CEO’s office level. Once there, she made her way down to Hou Yi’s office.
Upon arriving, she asked Assistant Wang, “Is it OK to go in?”
“Absolutely, Miss Jones. Here are the documents you need,” Assistant Wang said, handing her the papers.
Anna entered Hou Yi’s office, where they quickly sat down and worked through the documents. When they finished, Anna handed the finalized documents to Assistant Wang, requesting the same as the documents from the previous day. Assistant Wang confirmed he would take care of it.
Following the plans they had set the day before, Anna went straight downstairs and hopped into a taxi to the pre-determined location. There, she quickly changed in a public restroom and hopped into the waiting car to return to Hou Enterprises. This time, however, it was as the Lady Boss.
As the car arrived, her exit door was surrounded by bodyguards, who escorted her into the building and directly to Hou Yi’s office.
Once inside, and with the door shut behind her, Anna collapsed onto the couch, laughing. “Yi, you wouldn’t believe the gossip that was going around about me as the Lady Boss. You’d think your employees had nothing better to do!”
Hou Yi chuckled, “Well, you know gossip happens in any office.”
He paused for a moment, then continued, “As per our plans, I’ve gotten things ready in the bedroom, so to the cleaning staff, it will seem like we had wild sex in the office. At least I’ve had lunch delivered while you were gone.”
They sat down and ate their meal in peace. Once finished, they relaxed on the couch, simply talking. When they were comfortable, Hou Yi turned to Anna.
“When you leave,” he began, “I will be going to the wedding ceremony for Lu Jinhu and Yang Lin. Given how much everyone in society is talking about it, we’d be tipping our hands if I didn’t show up.”
