Yang Lin’s Anger
Thursday, continued…
“What do you mean Yang Meghwa didn’t get that laptop?!” Yang Lin screamed in frustration, slamming her fist against the table. “That woman was supposed to be locked up! Everything was planned, and now she’s avoiding us, making it impossible for us to finish this!”
“Lin, calm down,” Lu Jinhu interjected, his voice steady but tense. “This won’t help with the baby. Yang Meghwa couldn’t do much—he only found out that the information is being protected, which works in her favor. He doesn’t know why, and he has no idea who is involved. Another department led the raid based on an earlier tip-off, so they’re the ones who handled it before Yang Meghwa could even get his hands on her.”
Lu Jinhu paused, letting the weight of the situation sink in before continuing, “Somehow, she convinced the team leader that she had the right to stay in the country and work. We still don’t know how. The most Yang Meghwa could manage was getting a team member to confirm it was her. That’s all we know for now.”
Yang Lin’s face twisted in rage. “That b**ch! She was supposed to rot in jail while we moved on with our plans. She’s like a cat with nine lives—more, even—and someone is clearly protecting her. I need to find out who that is. Whoever it is, I’ll make sure they regret it.”
A pause followed as the realization began to settle in, and Yang Lin continued with a cold sneer, “And then there’s Hou Enterprises. Who in the world did Hou Yi marry? I thought we had done enough to prevent him from marrying anyone, and that it would have been my company by now. We need to figure out who his wife is and destroy that marriage. That company was supposed to be ours.”
Just as the conversation was about to continue, both Yang Lin and Lu Jinhu received a barrage of text messages, and Yang Lin’s phone began ringing. She quickly answered.
“Miss Yang,” came the voice of their spy in the catering team. “I apologize for the call, but there’s something you need to know. I’m on the catering team at Hou Enterprises, and today I was tasked with delivering lunch to CEO Hou’s office. It’s not unusual, but what we walked in on was… unexpected.”
“What did you walk in on?” Yang Lin demanded, her voice sharp.
“I never thought I’d see this. It’s not unusual for CEO Hou to have women in his office for meetings, but this wasn’t a meeting. When we entered, they didn’t notice us right away. CEO Hou was… kissing a woman, and they were partially undressed. When he noticed us, he shielded the woman’s face and told us to leave. It was clear from the few seconds we were there that they were going to continue what we interrupted.” The voice on the phone hesitated for a moment. “Oh, and I noticed something else—they were both wearing matching wedding bands. The woman hasn’t left his office in the 20 minutes since we left.”
Yang Lin’s anger boiled over. “Find out who this woman is. I want to know everything about her. As soon as you know, contact me.”
“Yes, Miss Yang.”
The call ended, and Yang Lin turned to Lu Jinhu, who had just finished reading the text messages he’d received.
“What did your text say?” Yang Lin asked, a dangerous edge to her voice.
Lu Jinhu glanced up, his expression dark. “I’ve received messages from all but one of our spies within Hou Enterprises, either directly or through their contacts. The only one who didn’t report in was our spy on the catering team. Apparently, Hou Yi was seen kissing a woman wearing a wedding band identical to his, but no one saw her enter, and no one could get a good look at her face. What’s worse, no one’s seen her leave his office.”
Yang Lin’s eyes narrowed. “Well, my call came from the spy in the catering team. She was part of the group that brought lunch to Hou Yi and walked in on… whatever it was they were doing. Apparently, he was furious that his private moment was interrupted.”
Lu Jinhu cursed under his breath. “S**t. It looks like it really was a love match. If you combine that with the information we got from those two maids you’ve manipulated to spy on Hou Yi in his apartment… they confirmed that on their wedding day, before even meeting the rest of his family, they had wild sex.”
He paused before adding, “They also told us that…”
