Offer to the CEO

Returning to the Lu’s

Wednesday, continued…

Meanwhile, back at the Lu family estate, Lu Jinhu and Yang Lin were relaxing on a sofa, covered by a blanket, after a passionate, wild encounter to release the frustrations of the past 24 hours. For a brief moment, they were simply enjoying the peace, unaware of the storm brewing just outside their private world. Then, the door to the room burst open.

“F**king Hou Yi!” shouted Mr. Lu, Lu Jinhu’s father, his voice filled with rage.

The sudden outburst startled Lu Jinhu. “Father, some courtesy would be appreciated. Get the f**k out of this room, and we will meet you in the study in a few minutes. You forget this is our honeymoon, and since we can’t go public for a few days, all we can do is honeymoon here.”

“What in the world do you mean?” Mr. Lu yelled, looking puzzled.

“Figure it out,” Lu Jinhu snapped, gesturing to the room with a look that made his father’s expression darken. He quickly took in the scene—the disheveled state of his son and daughter-in-law—and understood immediately.

“Five minutes. The study. Do not make me wait,” Mr. Lu ground out through clenched teeth before storming off.

As soon as he was out of sight, Lu Jinhu and Yang Lin scrambled to gather their scattered clothes, dressing hurriedly before dashing to the study.

Once seated, with their breath still heavy from the rush, Lu Jinhu turned to his father. “Father, what is going on?”

“That fking Hou Yi,” Mr. Lu spat, pacing in frustration. “I finally got some intel from the spies. He’s married—some unknown woman, a fking w**re. I don’t know who she is yet. The story is that he’s convinced his family he’s been in love with her for months and worked on getting her to marry him. They tied the knot yesterday. And the worst part is, he’s convinced them you, Yang Lin, were just a backup.”

The room went silent as the words sank in.

“What!?” both Lu Jinhu and Yang Lin shouted in disbelief.

“Yeah, and listen to this—if he didn’t marry by the deadline, we would have gotten the company. But what I didn’t know is that if he did marry, his father and grandfather are stepping down from all roles with Hou Enterprises, leaving Hou Yi completely in charge, with vacant seats on the board.”

“What?!” Lu Jinhu and Yang Lin exclaimed in unison, both taken aback.

“How the hell did he manage to get married without us knowing?” Lu Jinhu pressed. “Why didn’t we get the specifics on the marriage? How did he pull this off?”

Mr. Lu sighed heavily. “I don’t know. The spies haven’t given me much on the new Madam Hou yet. But they’re looking into her, and they’ll report back to you two. As for the resignation part, it seems to be a separate agreement—one that we didn’t have access to through our sources. Right now, I have a few things on with the company that I can’t afford to be distracted from, but we need to use whatever we find out about the new Madam Hou to destroy them.”

Lu Jinhu nodded, still reeling. “And what are we doing about Hou Enterprises in the meantime? How are we going to get revenge for this setback?”

Mr. Lu’s expression darkened. “I’ve taken steps. I’ve already thrown a few spanners in their operations. It won’t compensate for us not getting the company, but it will be pleasurable to watch their downfall. I’ve managed to disrupt a lot of their business. Senior executives from their headquarters will be taken down in the process, causing chaos for them. It’s all I could think of for now.”

Yang Lin spoke up, her voice laced with concern. “Father, we have another problem. We weren’t able to get a hold of that w**re’s laptop. She’s gone completely off the grid—didn’t make the flight, so I suspect she’s still in the country.”

Mr. Lu’s eyes narrowed. “Damn it. We needed that laptop to get access to her employers’ systems, find out how much we can take, and learn about Hou Enterprises’ plans in Australia. Now we don’t have it. How the hell did she just disappear?”

Yang Lin shook her head in frustration. “It doesn’t make sense. We should have had it by now.”

“Yang Lin, I’ll speak to your parents and reach out to the officials we know. We’ll have her arrested as soon as she surfaces,” Mr. Lu said coldly. “We’ll get that laptop one way or another. Hopefully, it’s not too late to make a move, and we’ll finish what we started.”

As Mr. Lu spoke, his mind already began to calculate the next steps, the stakes higher than ever. The Lu family would not be easily deterred, and despite the obstacles they now faced, they would stop at nothing to get what they wanted from Hou Enterprises—even if it meant destroying the new Madam Hou in the process.
