Friday on my Mind – Part 1
2 Friday
Waking up, Anna found herself in Hou Yi’s arms, and she noticed that he was just waking up himself.
The last thing Anna remembered was laying in the sitting room attached to Hou Yi’s office. In a somewhat questionable tone, she asked, “How in the world did I get here, and what did you do?”
Hou Yi knew when he saw Anna asleep in his sitting room at the office that she was exhausted, stressed, and worn out. But considering everything that had happened over the last few days, it was unsurprising that she had collapsed from sheer fatigue.
“Anna, calm down,” Hou Yi responded. “You fell asleep in my sitting room yesterday. I tried to wake you, but you didn’t stir. You didn’t wake when I carried you to the car, or even when I carried you in here or helped change you. You also had a very disturbed sleep. It was as though someone was hurting you in your sleep, and you needed reassurance that you were safe.”
Before Anna could say anything, there was a knock on the door, and a maid called out, “Young Master, Young Madam, Butler Ge has asked me to let you know it is 7am.”
Hou Yi reacted quickly, climbing out of bed and saying to Anna, “Get into the shower. I’ll find your regular clothes and your ‘wife’ outfit, along with those extra few items we talked about. While you finish getting ready, I’ll have my shower.”
He paused for a moment before continuing, “We might have to be somewhat social today and have breakfast downstairs. Before you say anything, don’t worry, your laptop, handbag, and items were locked in my study last night, so they were safe.”
Within twenty-five minutes, both Anna and Hou Yi were ready and walked downstairs. They entered the small dining room, where breakfast was quickly brought in.
Hou Yi called Butler Ge to speak with him. “As my wife and I need to travel to Australia for about a week tonight, we need staff to pack for us. Feel free to arrange for new suitcases for my wife if needed. We also need a day bag with sleepwear and a change of clothes for the cabin.”
“Make sure that when you send those to the plane, the items my wife has set aside for gifts are also included. If you have any questions, either speak to my wife directly, or if you cannot contact her, you can reach her through Assistant Wang. We will be leaving tonight directly from the office. The staff can have a couple of days off, as we don’t anticipate being back until at least Wednesday.”
“Not a problem, Young Master. Both of you have a good trip, and we’ll see you on your return.”
After finishing breakfast, Anna and Hou Yi finished getting ready for the day. Anna remembered that she needed to arrange for their Marriage Certificate and the Household Registers to be formally translated.
“Yi, I need to arrange for certified translations of our Marriage Certificate and the Household Registers today. How can I get that done?”
“Anna, I will consult the in-house team and arrange for someone qualified to handle it for legal matters today.”
Hou Yi paused, then added, “Hopefully there will be no issues in the legal department without Supervisor An, who has been charged, but let me know if there are any. I’ve cleared my schedule for you between 12 pm and 2 pm, and then from 4 pm. Once we’ve finished, your…”
