Let Me Stay The Night 1-100

Chapter 43 Try To Persuade Him

Christina felt her blood boil at Gideon’s words. His tone was condescending, as though he believed that her relationship with Nathaniel was nothing more than a tool to be used for business gain.

She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself before responding. “I don’t care about your rumors, Gideon. And don’t you ever insinuate that my marriage with Nathaniel is anything less than real. We have our own lives, and you have no right to manipulate me into doing anything for you.”

There was a long silence on the other end of the line before Gideon spoke again, this time with a slightly softer tone. “I’m just trying to help, Christina. You know how important this collaboration is for me, for the family.”

Christina’s grip tightened around her phone, her patience wearing thin. “If you were really trying to help, you wouldn’t have pressured me like this. It’s not my job to convince Nathaniel to collaborate with you. You need to deal with him directly, not through me. And don’t ever use me to further your agendas again.”

She hung up the phone, feeling both exhausted and frustrated. Her relationship with Nathaniel had been nothing but genuine, and yet people like Gideon seemed to think that she could be used as a pawn in their games. She couldn’t help but feel resentful that others saw her marriage as something to be exploited.

Trying to push the thoughts out of her head, Christina turned her attention back to her work. But she couldn’t shake the feeling that her life was becoming more complicated by the day. With her growing closeness to Nathaniel, the stakes seemed higher. And with the world around her constantly judging their every move, Christina couldn’t help but wonder what would come next.

As she focused on her tasks, Nathaniel’s presence lingered in her mind—his warm embrace, the sweet way he’d called her “Darling” that morning. For a moment, she allowed herself to smile, remembering their time together. Despite everything, she was determined to hold on to the moments that made her feel truly alive.
