Let Me Stay The Night 1-100

Chapter 84 Near Accident

Christina couldn’t help but glance at Nathaniel, though she quickly turned her attention back to the view outside the window. Her thoughts were still occupied by the events from the previous night, when he had rushed to save her from the car, holding her tightly in his arms as if nothing else mattered. The image of his face, filled with concern, lingered in her mind, making her feel both confused and comforted.

The flight was peaceful, but Christina couldn’t shake off the sense of unease. There were too many things left unsaid between them—too many unanswered questions.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel sat back, gazing at Christina out of the corner of his eye. Despite the calm atmosphere, his mind was also racing. He could sense the tension between them, the subtle distance that hadn’t been there before. His protective instincts had kicked in without hesitation last night, but now, he couldn’t help but wonder how far that feeling went. Was it just a reflex, or was it something deeper?

He watched her quietly, appreciating her beauty from a distance. Her unspoken thoughts seemed to mirror his own—tangled, complicated, but undeniable. There was an intensity between them that neither of them could ignore, but neither knew how to bridge.

Christina eventually turned her head to face him, her gaze meeting his for a brief moment. For that instant, the rest of the world seemed to fade away, leaving only the weight of their silent exchange.

Nathaniel’s expression softened slightly. “You’re thinking too much again,” he said, his voice quiet but firm, like he understood exactly what was on her mind.

Christina blinked, surprised by his perceptiveness. “I’m not thinking about anything in particular,” she replied evasively, though she couldn’t suppress the faint blush that crept up her neck.

He raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. “Is that so?”

Before she could respond, the flight attendant arrived with a tray of fresh pastries. The momentary distraction allowed Christina to break eye contact, grateful for the interruption. She accepted the coffee and croissant from the attendant, trying to focus on the simplicity of the moment, but Nathaniel’s gaze lingered on her for just a second too long.

As they continued their flight back to Jadeborough, both Christina and Nathaniel couldn’t help but wonder what would happen when they finally returned to the life that awaited them. Would things stay the same, or would the events of the past few days change everything between them?
