Leaving While Pregnant:He Goes Crazy

Chapter 62

“Are you guys dead?” Yelena yelled at the movers. “Did I pay you to stand there and watch? Come help me!”

Marcus shot her a deadly look. The movers exchanged nervous glances, none of them daring to move.

Yelena felt her heart race as the weight of the situation sank in. She couldn’t tear her eyes away from the man in front of her, a growing sense of unease settling in her chest.

“C-Cordelia!” She finally shouted in fear, her voice trembling. “Are you going to control your husband or not!? I—I swear, if he dares to hurt me, I’ll call the police! I’ll get them to arrest him and throw him back in jail!”

Marcus tightened his grip, an icy smile playing on his lips.

Yelena screamed in pain as her knees buckled, causing her to collapse onto the floor.

“The Jenners’ heiress calling someone a b*tch like it’s nothing. Isn’t that a bit too much?” Marcus scoffed, his tone dripping with disdain. “What? Are the Jenners so poor they can’t even afford mouthwash?”

He tossed her aside, and Yelena slammed into the wall with a sickening thud.

Cordelia rushed forward, her hands gripping Marcus’s arm.

He paused, taking a deep breath.

Normally, he wouldn’t hit a woman, but Yelena’s constant taunting had pushed him past his breaking point. He was ready to deal with her once and for all.

But Cordelia’s touch softened him. The worry in her eyes, the pleading look that wasn’t for Yelena but for him—it made him reconsider.

She was afraid he might do something he would regret, that the consequences might be far worse than what Yelena deserved.

Marcus chuckled softly and gave her a reassuring glance. His tone softened, and he held her closer.

“My wife didn’t tell me who she is,” he said coolly, “but I don’t care. She’s my wife, the woman I will protect for the rest of my life.

“Anyone who dares to hurt her will have to go through me first.”

Cordelia followed Marcus back to their home in silence, her mind racing.

Yelena had been powerless against Marcus’s strength, and in the end, she left with her men.

Marcus spent the entire afternoon restoring the house. He carefully put everything back in place, not allowing Cordelia to lift a finger.

Watching him work, Cordelia felt a rush of emotions. Tears welled in her eyes as she recalled Yelena’s taunts and Marcus’s protective words.

“What’s wrong?” Marcus’s deep voice suddenly broke the silence. “Go inside.”

Cordelia’s heart skipped a beat. She didn’t want him to see her tears. Her head lowered, and she quickly fumbled for the keys.

Once inside, she hurried to slip off his shoes and put on his slippers, then went straight to the fridge to gather the ingredients for dinner. She barely had a moment to herself before she was back in the kitchen, cooking.

Marcus watched her from the doorway, a pang of guilt stirring in his chest. He walked over, a small smile on his face.

“It’s late. Don’t worry about cooking,” he suggested. “How about we eat out tonight?”

Cordelia froze, her hands halting mid-motion. She glanced at him, panic in her eyes.

“I—I’ll be done soon,” she said softly, almost in a whisper. “It’s your favorite, definitely better than a restaurant. Please, give me a minute.”

She caught herself, feeling uneasy at the thought of what she had just said. She looked up at him again, her voice faltering. “Are you hungry? I’m sorry… you’ve worked all afternoon. If you want, we can eat out. Should we go to the Regalia Hotel?”

Marcus stared at her for a long time, the hint of a smile on his lips. He shook his head lightly.

“The Regalia Hotel is expensive. Can you afford it?”
