Leaving While Pregnant:He Goes Crazy

Chapter 90

Seth recognized her instantly, and a smile spread across his face. “You’re Yelena, right? Wow, what a coincidence. What brought you here?”

Cordelia lowered her head, chuckling softly. Seth had been the one who had matched her with Marcus, though he had no idea she had married Marcus on behalf of her sister.

“I’m Cordelia,” she said with a gentle smile. “This is a long story. I’ll explain it to you afterward.”

Seth blinked in surprise before grinning. “No matter if you’re Yelena or Cordelia, both of you are Jenners. I’m sure I didn’t fail my job as the matchmaker.”

He paused for a moment, then asked, “By the way, how are you and Marcus doing? After you moved to Jangasas, I went to further my studies at the medical school in Centrolis. It’s been a while since we last saw each other!”

“We’re doing fine,” Cordelia replied softly. “Why don’t you come to my house after work? It’s been some time since Marcus saw you. I’ll make a few dishes, and you two can catch up.”

Seth waved his hand, shaking his head. “I don’t think I can… See, I still have a lot of things to do.”

Suddenly, he recalled the incident earlier in the ward. “By the way, is that patient your mother?”

Cordelia nodded quietly.

Seth’s expression shifted to one of concern. He wasn’t sure what had happened, but he could understand her pain. If he had a mother like Xyla, he would likely feel the same way. “Don’t worry. I’ll help you take care of your mother,” he offered kindly.

“Thank you,” Cordelia replied, feeling grateful. Seth’s help had been crucial in keeping her mother under control earlier.

“Dr. Stafford, are you one of the doctors here?” she asked.

Seth smiled and shook his head. “Nope. I majored in surgery. Psychiatry is only my minor. I’m just here to learn more, and I’ll leave once my advanced training is over.”

“I see,” Cordelia said thoughtfully.

“But I have opened a clinic in the south of the city,” Seth added. “If you need anything, I can still help you out! But as a doctor, I hope you won’t need my help, so don’t come to me unless it’s absolutely necessary!” He scratched his head sheepishly.

Cordelia chuckled, appreciating his humor.

She suddenly remembered that Marcus was now working as a boxing coach. With the nature of his work, there was always a risk of injury, and he participated in matches regularly. Having someone like Seth around would be comforting.

“Dr. Stafford, actually…” Cordelia began, meeting his eyes. “I do have something I need your help with.”

The match was set for two nights later. Marcus was going up against a three-time champion from Jangasas city-level competition. But Marcus didn’t seem worried, treating his opponent as nothing more than a minor challenge compared to his past achievements.

This was Cordelia’s first time attending a match like this. The rowdy crowd, the charged atmosphere, and the sight of fighters in the ring had her heart racing with excitement. She sat with Linda at the center, the perfect spot to view the whole ring.

“Oh my, this is my first time watching a match live!” Linda exclaimed, fanning herself vigorously, even though the air conditioning was on. The energy of the crowd was so intense that Linda was practically sweating bullets. She kept glancing around the venue, nearly bursting out in excitement when she saw the topless, muscular fighters.

“Linda, calm down,” Cordelia warned, glancing at her friend with a half-smile. “I won’t bring you here again if you don’t behave yourself.”

Linda pinched her playfully, “Are you my friend or not, Lia? How can you only bring me here now when your husband’s about to—”
