Chapter 26
Ignoring Emmeline’s protests, Abel lifted the triplets in his arms and placed one on his back, leading them downstairs. Emmeline quickly grabbed the kids’ jackets and hurried after them.
Half an hour later, Abel, Emmeline, and the triplets arrived at Fifteen Avery Park, one of the most instagrammable restaurants in town, in Abel’s sleek Rolls-Royce. They entered the elevator, followed by Luca and three bodyguards. Luca and his team had parked their car nearby and entered the next elevator, their duty to ensure Abel’s safety at all costs.
Once inside the restaurant, Abel and Emmeline’s entrance drew the attention of the crowd. Despite being relatively unknown in Struyria, Abel’s irresistible charm, combined with Emmeline’s beauty and the triplets’ adorableness, made them the center of attention. Almost everyone in the restaurant was enamored with the beautiful family.
However, not everyone was impressed. Alana, who had been dining with her best friend, immediately spotted Abel at the entrance. As she stood to approach him, she froze when she saw he was with Emmeline and the triplets.
Alana had heard from Rosaline that Abel had moved out, but she hadn’t expected him to move in with Emmeline. The sight of them looking so close, like a real family, sent a wave of anger through her. Were they already living together?
Through gritted teeth, Alana muttered to herself, “I won’t let you get away with this, Emmeline.” Grabbing her handbag, she stormed out through another exit.
Meanwhile, the triplets eagerly scoured the menu, each enthusiastically placing their orders. Emmeline, ever the responsible mother, frowned. “Only order what you can finish, alright?”
Abel, watching the children, turned to Emmeline with a gentle smile. “What would you like? Should I recommend something?”
Emmeline shook her head. “It’s okay. I’ll order for myself.”
She placed her order, and Abel ordered his favorites. Moments later, the food arrived, and they began to eat, enjoying their time together.
Back at the Louise family villa, Alana rushed in, tears streaming down her face. She found Auntie Alondra and immediately began to complain about what she had seen at the restaurant.
Alondra listened intently, frowning at her niece’s distress. After a moment of thought, she leaned in and whispered into Alana’s ear.
“Would this work?” Alana asked with teary eyes, doubt lingering in her voice. “I’m afraid Abel won’t forgive me if he finds out.”
Alondra’s voice was calm and confident. “Listen to me, don’t worry. This is the only way for you to be with Abel. You need to set him up again.”
“What if I don’t get pregnant?” Alana’s voice wavered with uncertainty. “Would Abel forgive me?”
“You just need to get him to sleep with you,” Alondra replied smoothly. “Chances are, you’ll get pregnant this time.”
Alana looked skeptical. “What about Emmeline? She had quadruplets after sleeping with Abel. How do you explain that?”
Alondra pulled her closer and whispered again, her plan sounding more devious than before. Alana’s eyes widened as she listened, her face turning red as she took in the details.
“That sounds like a good plan,” Alana said quietly, her voice full of trepidation.
“I’ve got this handled,” Alondra assured her. “I’ll get you the person you need. You just have to pay the money. I’ll make sure nothing goes wrong.”
“Thank you so much, Auntie Alondra,” Alana said with a smile that hid her nervousness.
“No need to thank me. I’m counting on you to climb the social ladder,” Alondra replied with a sly grin.
Back at Fifteen Avery Park, Abel, Emmeline, and the triplets were finishing their desserts. The triplets were stuffed and couldn’t eat another bite.
Abel, enjoying his milkshake, said, “Let’s go to the theme park after this.”
The triplets lit up, their faces filled with excitement. “Yes! Daddy is the best!”
Emmeline frowned, not as excited. “It’s getting late. I think we should go home.”
Abel, however, wasn’t listening. He insisted, “It’s fine. The kids should have some fun before we head home.”
He led them out of the restaurant before Emmeline could protest any further. As they entered the elevator, Abel suddenly froze, his heart sinking. “Shit.”
“What’s wrong?” Emmeline asked, noticing his change in demeanor.
Abel turned toward her, his face pale. “I think I’m having an allergic reaction. There was kiwi in the milkshake just now.”
Emmeline was stunned. “Are you allergic to kiwi?”
