Chapter 65

Alana’s knees wobbled with fury, and she nearly collapsed on the floor.

Emmeline! How did you manage to make Abel fall so deeply for you that he’d willingly lower his status? He’s head over heels for you! Alana fumed silently.

As Alana simmered with jealousy, the butler’s voice cut through the tension: “Announcing the arrival of Ms. Emmeline Louise!”

Everyone turned their heads toward the entrance.

A slender, beautiful young woman entered the room, her presence immediately drawing everyone’s attention. She was dressed in a stunning blue evening gown, and her chestnut hair cascaded in soft waves around her shoulders. There was little makeup on her face, yet her natural beauty was captivating.

The women in the room gasped when they noticed the gown she was wearing.

Is that… the Serene Sea? The ultimate masterpiece by one of the best designers in the world, and there’s only one of them ever made?

“That… that’s impossible!” Alana stammered in shock.

She had been eagerly awaiting Emmeline’s arrival, hoping to humiliate her with her own extravagant display. But now, Emmeline had completely stolen the show.

Suddenly, Alana felt small and unremarkable in comparison to the woman who had just entered.

“Mommy!” “Mommy!” “Mommy!” “Pretty Mommy!”

Four boys ran toward Emmeline, with Timothy trailing behind. Tears welled up in Emmeline’s eyes as she bent down, arms wide open, and embraced all four of them.

“My babies! I’ve missed you so much! How have you been?”

“We’ve been great!” Helios, Endymion, and Hesperus answered enthusiastically. Only Timothy lowered his head shyly, a little more subdued.

“Timmy,” Emmeline said softly, lifting his face with a gentle touch. She kissed his cheek tenderly. “What happened? You need to cheer up. Otherwise, I’ll be sad too.”

Timothy sniffled, forcing a small smile. “I’ll try my best to be happy, Pretty Mommy.”

Emmeline’s heart ached for the little boy. She hugged him tightly, as if trying to pour all her love into the embrace.

From across the room, Julianna spoke to Rosaline with a sly smile. “I say, Rosaline, something doesn’t seem right. Timothy looks exactly like the other three boys! Did Emmeline give birth to quadruplets, and someone from your family stole Timothy away?”

“That’s utter nonsense!” Alana’s face turned pale, her voice rising in defense. “I gave birth to Timothy myself! He used to be a part of me! He’s not stolen!”

“Why are you so worked up?” Julianna smirked, clearly enjoying the situation. “I was just joking with Rosaline.”

Rosaline glanced at the four boys again, her mind racing. Now that she mentions it, it does make sense… But no, that’s impossible! We ran a DNA test, and Timothy is definitely Abel’s son.

Alana, now panicking, grabbed Timothy by the wrist and dragged him over to her. “Look me in the eye! I am your mother!”

Timothy winced from the pain, tears welling up in his eyes.

“That’s no way to treat a child!” Emmeline snapped, stepping forward in anger. “Is that how you act as a mother?”

Alana scoffed coldly. “It’s none of your business.”

Emmeline’s fury flared. “If you don’t know how to behave as a mother, I’ll teach you how!”

Rosaline, feeling defensive, shot back coldly, “You’re in no position to teach anyone anything!”

Julianna stepped forward, shielding Emmeline from further confrontation. “Emmeline is a good mother! Look at my three grandchildren—aren’t they fine?”

Oscar, who had been quietly observing, finally spoke in a stern tone. “That’s enough! Why must you bicker and argue as soon as you step through the door? Where are your manners?”

Emmeline froze, stunned. Is he talking about me? Why is he so prejudiced against me?

Oscar turned to Rosaline, his gaze lingering on Emmeline. “This girl is too bewitching. I’m not sure I can call Adrien a lucky man just yet.”

A heavy silence fell over the room, the atmosphere turning tense.

Rosaline was at a loss for words, unsure of how to respond.

Alana chuckled softly, almost triumphantly. She hadn’t expected Oscar to say that. Looks like I’m in luck! No one in the family would dare defy the patriarch’s words now!

Her smug expression only deepened as she thought, Not so smug now, Emmeline!
