Chapter 96
“You won’t,” Alana said, her voice sharp. “I know you want me to help you get rid of Abel, so why would you eliminate the only bargaining chip I have with him?”
Adam chuckled darkly, his eyes narrowing. “Aren’t you worried that I might get rid of Abel myself? He’s the man you love, right?”
“I don’t care if you eliminate him,” Alana retorted with a cold smile. “All I want is for Abel to marry me. I want you to remove everyone standing between us. When it’s just you and him left, you two can fight it out. If Abel loses, so be it. I just want him to marry me.”
Adam leaned back, intrigued. “Tell me, how can I help you?”
Alana’s eyes gleamed with malice. “I need you to eliminate a few people. I won’t rest easy until they’re gone.”
Adam raised an eyebrow. “How do you know I’m in the business of contract killing and smuggling?”
“Because I know the owner of the Imperial Palace is the real power in Struyria,” Alana said, her tone sweet but deadly.
Adam smirked, clearly entertained. “Heheh, I like what I hear. For that, I’ll help you.”
Alana’s voice grew colder. “First, I want you to take care of the doctor and two nurses at that maternal hospital in Brookwater Village. They were involved in Emmeline’s delivery. They know how many children she gave birth to.”
Adam didn’t immediately respond, but a wicked grin spread across his face. Things are getting more interesting.
Meanwhile, Cristopher went to Levan Mansion, handing Rosaline the completed maternity DNA test report.
“According to the results from the two strands of hair, Alana Lane and Timothy Ryker are definitely biological mother and son,” he reported, a fake enthusiasm in his voice.
Rosaline frowned, deep in thought. “Have I been overthinking this?”
Cristopher rose to leave. “I’ll be on my way then, if that’s all.”
“Mm.” Rosaline nodded, then handed him a thick envelope. “This is for you.”
“Thank you, Madame.” Cristopher quickly stuffed the envelope into his jacket and made his exit.
Once outside, he dialed Alana’s number. “I gave Rosaline the report. She rewarded me too! Hahaha!”
Alana’s voice seethed with frustration. “Sure, you keep playing both sides.”
“Let’s focus on the serious stuff. I’m waiting for my reward. I’ll be at my place at 8 PM.”
Before Alana could respond, Cristopher hung up, a playful laugh lingering in his words.
At eight o’clock that evening, Alana arrived at Cristopher’s house. He had already taken a bath and was lounging on the bed in nothing but a towel.
Reluctantly, Alana undressed and joined him on the bed.
“Alana, my dear!” Cristopher purred, preparing to kiss her.
Alana held her arm up, creating a barrier between them. “Cris, you know I’m already pregnant. I’m hoping to lock down my marriage to Abel with this child.”
Cristopher chuckled darkly. “That child? Heh.”
Alana frowned, confused. “Why are you laughing?”
Cristopher’s voice dropped, a strange glint in his eyes. “Who knows? The child could be mine. Heheh.”
Alana’s eyes widened in shock. “It’s been so long since we were together. The child can’t be yours. It’s…”
Her thoughts raced, It’s either Abel’s or Mr. X’s. Abel slept with her once, but Mr. X had been with her for an entire month.
Cristopher’s smirk widened. “Ah, you don’t know? That night, Abel called me for a tranquilizer shot.”
Alana’s heart skipped a beat. “What do you mean?”
Cristopher’s grin turned sinister. “Still playing dumb? You wanted me to bring you an aphrodisiac, didn’t you? So, who did you give it to?”
“I put it in Abel’s bathtub, of course!” Alana replied, her voice trembling but defiant.
“That’s right,” Cristopher said with a low chuckle. “That night, I was supposed to give Abel a shot, but I accidentally ended up in his room. I saw you lying there, naked, and well… I couldn’t hold back, so I had my way with you…”
