Chapter 57

“Luca,” Abel said coldly, his tone commanding. “Go find out which media outlet is involved. Make them disappear in Struyria.”

“Understood,” Luca replied, his voice steady.

“Wait,” Abel added, pausing for a moment. “Make sure Emmeline doesn’t see you.”

“Yes, Mr. Abel.” Luca quickly retrieved a black face mask from his pocket and slipped it on. It was common for people to wear face masks in public, and Luca blended right in.

Meanwhile, Emmeline was busy in a clothing store, searching for a suit. She had chosen a black one similar to Abel’s torn jacket, though hers was obviously cheaper. She had to make sure it wouldn’t raise suspicion.

After picking out the suit, Emmeline went to the cashier. Just as she was about to pay, a group of five entertainment reporters approached her.

“Ms. Louise, is it true that Mr. Ryker refused to acknowledge Ms. Lane’s pregnancy because of your involvement?” one of the reporters asked, holding up a camera.

“Ms. Louise, you’re aware that Mr. Ryker and Ms. Lane have a child together. Why are you still trying to break up their marriage? Don’t you feel ashamed?” another reporter pressed.

As the reporters started broadcasting live, customers around Emmeline began to whisper.

“Isn’t she that Emmeline Louise? I heard she’s still seducing men!”

“She was already a troublemaker five years ago. Looks like nothing’s changed!”

“She’s still causing chaos, just like before. What a piece of work!”

The reporters shouted at Emmeline, demanding explanations.

“Which one of you saw me ruin their marriage?” Emmeline shouted back, her anger rising. “Whether Alana’s pregnant or not, whether Abel admits it—it’s none of my business!”

“But the Lane family said it was all because of you! They claim Alana is the victim!” one reporter argued.

More customers chimed in, criticizing her.

“Alana must have been devastated when she found out she was pregnant! It’s outrageous!”

“Emmeline, you’re a woman, too. How could you do this to another woman? You should be ashamed!”

Emmeline’s frustration boiled over. “It’s you who are unreasonable! Always chasing rumors and bullying people online! You never take responsibility for your actions!”

Without thinking, she grabbed the live broadcast stand and slammed it to the ground, stomping it into pieces. Before the reporters could react, she kicked several of them, sending them sprawling.

“How dare you hit us!” one reporter screamed, lying on the ground in pain. “Help! Call 911!”

“Call 911? I can help you!” Emmeline snapped. She continued to punch and kick them, enjoying the release of her anger.

Afterward, she took out her phone and dialed Derrick’s number, putting it on speakerphone.

“I’m in a men’s clothing store on Timber Street,” Emmeline said nonchalantly. “I just beat up a bunch of annoying reporters. You can send the police if you want to arrest me!”

“We’re busy at the moment,” Derrick responded politely, unfazed. “Honestly, those reporters got what they deserved. Don’t worry about it, as long as you didn’t kill them! Just teach them a lesson!”

Emmeline smiled. “Perfect! I’ll make sure they know how to behave next time.”

The reporters, still shaken, scrambled to their feet and ran off, shouting in fear. Emmeline couldn’t help but laugh at their retreating forms.

She quickly paid for her suit, which totaled $560, and walked out of the store, carrying the bag with her new clothes.

Luca, who had been watching from outside, was stunned by what he had just witnessed. He had overheard the conversation at the service desk. That suit only cost $560?

Emmeline had just bought a $560 suit for Abel?!

Luca was taken aback. Even his own bodyguard uniform was worth twelve thousand!

He realized, though, that Abel had tasked him with making that media disappear, but he didn’t need to do anything now. Emmeline had already taken care of it by scattering the reporters. They hadn’t gotten a single shot.

Luca couldn’t help but be impressed. She knocked down five or six reporters without breaking a sweat. I don’t know if I could’ve done that so fast.

Emmeline hung the packing box on her electric bike and put on her helmet before riding off.

It wasn’t until later that Luca reported everything he had seen to Abel.

Abel listened in silence, his mind whirring. So Emmeline isn’t Wonder Doctor?

He thought back to the suit—Wonder Doctor couldn’t be poor enough to buy a cheap outfit. And she was supposed to be a doctor, not someone with that kind of fighting ability.

I’ve clearly overestimated Emmeline.
