Quadruplets Unite Mothers Words Are Law

Chapter 47

“Isn’t it thrilling, Mommy?” Helios sighed, looking at the romantic scene.

“I have to admit, it’s quite romantic. I feel moved,” Endymion said, his dimples showing as he smiled.

“We can’t be the only ones feeling moved. He has to touch Mom’s heart too,” Hesperus added with a knowing glance.

Emmeline rolled her eyes. “It’s a pity I don’t feel the sparks for him. He’s not my type.”

“But he’s our daddy,” the triplets chimed in unison.

Emmeline paused for a moment. “I think God might have made a mistake. How could such brilliant kids like you have a playboy for a father?”

“Mommy, what’s a playboy?” Helios asked, representing his brothers.

Emmeline hesitated. She didn’t want to ruin how the kids saw their father. “It’s… It’s someone who is used to a free and easy life.”

Before she could elaborate further, a voice interrupted.

“Emmeline, will you say yes and be my bride?”

Adrien suddenly dropped to one knee, holding out a bouquet of roses to her.

“Get up! Didn’t we agree not to take it that far?” Emmeline blurted, clearly frustrated. “I might just take the kids back to the rural area, and they’ll become farmers for life.”

“Woah!” The triplets’ eyes went wide in surprise. What did they do to deserve being sent off to become farmers?

“You can bring me along.” Adrien chuckled. “I’ve thought about it, and I’ve made up my mind. I want to be with you. We could be a family of farmers.”

“Woah!” The triplets’ jaws dropped. Mommy had the power to make Daddy give up his city life for a career in agriculture?

“I don’t have time for this,” Emmeline snapped. “You have thirty seconds to get out of here. I need to drop the kids off at school.”

“Emmeline, these are our kids. Can’t you at least give me this?” Adrien pleaded.

“Tsk.”

Emmeline wasn’t having it. “I told you to leave! Take your flowers and leave!”

“Don’t you love roses? You can’t imagine how many women would die for 999 roses from a Ryker boy.”

Emmeline’s eyes flashed with irritation. “I don’t care about you or your roses. You should find someone better than me.”

“Emma, please reconsider.”

“I have nothing to reconsider.” Emmeline whipped out her phone and dialed Benjamin. “Send me ten cleaners to clean up the mess at the entrance.”

Benjamin’s voice came through, confused. “What happened, Ms. Louise?”

“I said I need cleaners. What are you blabbering about?”

Adrien stood there, staring at her, waiting until Emmeline hung up the phone. “Who did you call, Emma?”

“The health and safety department! Your roses pose a safety hazard to my entrance.”

It took a moment for Adrien to process. “Ah. I spent thousands to fly these roses from abroad. They’re not trash.”

“Roses without love are garbage!” Emmeline shot back. “You dumped these flowers here, and you’re not letting me take out the trash?”

Benjamin quickly mobilized ten cleaners from various floors. To be extra cautious, he even donned a cleaner’s uniform and mask before rushing to the café.

Just then, two MPVs pulled up in front of the café. The vehicle doors opened, and out stepped eleven cleaners, armed with brooms and mops.

Adrien was stunned. Emmeline seemed to have the health and safety department on speed dial. She was able to summon a dozen cleaners with a single phone call.

“Ms. Louise, what would you like us to do?” Benjamin asked, his voice muffled by the mask.

Emmeline pointed at the L.O.V.E-shaped roses. “Take out this trash.”

“Got it.” Benjamin nodded to the cleaners, and they immediately got to work.

“Seriously, it’s fine if you don’t like the flowers, but you didn’t have to waste them. These flowers are beautiful,” Adrien protested, still standing by.

“But this is not the place for them. I find them an eyesore,” Emmeline replied dismissively.

“I’ve got a better idea. I’ll get my security detail to deliver these roses to Ryker Group to brighten up their lobby,” Adrien suggested with a grin.

“Alright,” Emmeline replied with a nod. “At least I can save the cost of the cleanup.”

Holding a broom, Benjamin turned to Emmeline. “Ma’am, do you still need our service?”

“No, you can go now,” Emmeline replied, her tone still crisp but relieved that the situation was finally under control.
