Chapter 77
“I thought you only had one,” Emmeline said curiously.
By then, Abel had already retreated into the bathroom.
Soon after, she heard the sound of running water.
Was he about to say something else? Emmeline wondered, but she couldn’t quite figure it out.
Looking back at his actions, she realized Abel hadn’t acted out of malice.
Rather, he had done it out of love.
“Pfft!” Emmeline suddenly chuckled.
She hadn’t expected that serious man to have such a playful side to him.
By the time Abel emerged from the bathroom, Emmeline had already left.
The rest of the night passed without incident.
Abel left the café early the next morning.
After everything that happened last night, he had to admit he wasn’t sure how to face Emmeline anymore.
He hadn’t expected to have such a raw, primal side to him.
Five years of training—had it all been in vain?
As he exited the café, Luca spotted him from the parking lot. He quickly drove the Rolls-Royce to the entrance, and the bodyguards followed suit.
Abel stepped into the car, looking displeased.
Luca glanced at him through the rearview mirror. “Good morning, Mr. Ryker. Are you heading to the office?”
“I want breakfast at Nimbus Hotel,” Abel muttered darkly.
Nimbus Hotel was one of the most exclusive spots in Struyria. It belonged to the Ryker Group.
Luca noticed that Emmeline had clearly not prepared breakfast for Abel, but he didn’t know that she had already gone to the hospital to visit Hesperus.
In fifteen minutes, Abel arrived at Nimbus Hotel and entered the first-floor restaurant.
The restaurant was well-known for its quality, attracting a crowd every morning.
Abel was escorted to a private lounge by the bodyguards.
It was a secluded area exclusively reserved for the Ryker family, where there would be no disturbances.
But as soon as Abel reached the door, he heard a troubling sound from inside—a mix of frivolous laughter and light conversation.
What is this nonsense? Who dares to intrude on my private lounge?
The waiter, nervous upon seeing Abel’s icy expression, hesitated. But the bodyguards had already ushered Abel inside.
What he saw next was less than pleasing.
Adrien was sitting at a table, surrounded by two women.
While he ate breakfast, he was more interested in flirting with the women than the food.
“Won’t you feed me a sausage?” Adrien asked, holding his mouth open toward the woman to his left.
The woman giggled and picked up the sausage with a fork.
Adrien shook his head. “Not like that. I don’t want you using the fork.”
“What should I do then?” The woman pretended to be confused.
Another woman laughed and teased, “That’s easy! Just use your mouth!”
“My mouth? Ugh!” The woman pretended to be offended, then placed half of the sausage into her mouth.
“Ahh…” Adrien leaned in, preparing to take a bite.
But then, the two women noticed the imposing figure of Abel standing at the door with eight bodyguards in tow.
The room’s temperature seemed to drop several degrees.
The sausage fell from the woman’s mouth, and her eyes widened.
Wow! Who is that? He’s so handsome! If I could, I’d throw myself at him…
But she knew better than to approach a man with such an intense aura.
Adrien, too, noticed Abel and his bodyguards. He immediately recognized the trouble brewing.
Before he could react, Abel kicked the table in front of him with such force that it slammed into Adrien’s table.
“Ouch!” Adrien jumped up from his seat.
The two tables collided with the wall, shaking the entire room.
Had Adrien not moved quickly, the impact could have left him seriously hurt.
“Abel! What is the meaning of this?” Adrien stammered, his face turning pale with shock.
